This is the first of three workshops designed to create awareness of environmental justice/racism and further inform each of us on how to vote and support candidates up and down the ballot. What does environmental justice/racism mean? This will be explored along with the acknowledgement of the disproportionate burden of environmental hazards in communities with people of color and/or people at the lower economic scale. In addition, the impact environmental racism plays on health, economics opportunities and social well-being will be explored. Finally, we will discuss calls to action and how we can become active in our work and everyday lives to advance this critical work to protect our planet.
