Plastic pollution!  Did you know that only about 9% of plastic produced is actually recycled? This workshop will take a deep dive into plastic pollution and why and how it is far more than a litter problem. We will look at the significance of plastic production and its threat to public health and the environment. The world is in a “plastics crisis” which is causing disease and death from infancy to old age and is responsible for at least $250 billion a year in health-related damages in the United States alone. The workshop will make the connection between plastic pollution and political and social issues and close with ideas for solutions and actionable steps that can be taken starting immediately!
