In this day of activism, being able to speak to a crowd or group is becoming more and more relevant and needed. Want to hone your skills as a public speaker to ensure that your message is received and acted upon? This workshop will show you concrete ways you can make your talk more authentic, passionate, and enthusiastic. Techniques for adding humor and adding a personal side will be shown. This is a not to be miss opportunity to learn from John Sasaki.
John Sasaki is a Bay Area native and a product of a mostly public school education. But he is a 100% public education advocate. He currently works as a communications director for a school district, which gives him a broad perspective that bolsters his ability as a fierce advocate for not only public education, but education as a whole. Prior to working in schools, John was a television news reporter who covered countless important stories which helped shape his views of our world. He covered the tragedy in Sandy Hook in Connecticut, the advent of legalized same sex marriage in San Francisco, hundreds of wildfires which increased in size exponentially in his 25 years in news, and he served as a media witness of an execution on Nevada's death row. All of these experiences helped give him new perspectives about issues that face Americans every day.
