LWVDV is co-hosting a Unite & Rise for Voting Rights Day of Action with the National Council of Negro Women, Alameda Section, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Omega Upsilon Omega Chapter on NATIONAL VOTING RIGHTS DAY OF ACTION SUNDAY, AUGUST 9, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. There will be a brief educational overview about the VRA and discussion about the current electoral challenges we face. Participants will also hear personal stories about how voting affects our lives and our communities, and have the opportunity to engage in Get Out the Vote activities.

The event will be held in the WALNUT CREEK LIBRARY 1644 N. Broadway From the 19th Amendment - to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 - to the Callais Decision: Learn where we go from here? After the session, Information/Action Tables will be hosted outside of the library. CTD will be hosting a table,  where you can grab and go with a packet of postcards to voters, sign up for action, and take away a treasured message button or bracelet as our thanks for dropping by.
