Most of us remember the time in our lives when we first read the The Joy Luck Club for the first time. In this book, we experienced the intense level of love between mothers and daughters and its impact on our inner selves. For most of us this was the first time we had explored the deep and powerful emotion and bond between ourselves and our mothers. All these years later, there is a special place in our hearts for Amy Tan. 

We are honored that Amy is a friend of Commit To Democracy and believes in the work we are conducting to save our Democracy!  We are incredibly honored to announce that Amy will be joining CTD members in person at an event in Alamo. You will have a chance to talk with her, hear her story, and then share your own stories in an interactive session.
